CELPIP Score Chart & CLB Equivalence
CELPIP® levels correspond to CLB levels for each language skill; for example, CELPIP 7, 8 and 9 correspond to CLB 7, 8 and 9. Listening and reading correct-answer ranges overlap, so a raw practice score gives an estimated level rather than a guaranteed test result.

The overlaps reflect differences in test difficulty and score equating. The published chart groups levels 10–12 together; it does not distinguish those levels from a raw score. Use the ranges to interpret practice, rather than promise a result on another test form.

CELPIP 7, 8 or 9 to IELTS General Training
Start with the CLB for the CELPIP skill, then look up the IELTS General Training requirement for that same skill in IRCC's language test tables. Compare listening with listening and reading with reading; an overall IELTS band is insufficient for this comparison.
CELPIP 7 corresponds to CLB 7, CELPIP 8 to CLB 8 and CELPIP 9 to CLB 9. Use the IELTS row for the relevant CLB and check every skill column.

Can I convert one overall IELTS band to CELPIP?
Use the IRCC CLB tables skill by skill. An overall IELTS band alone does not give the separate listening, reading, writing and speaking equivalents.
